Skinny Bars ASDA Launch Animated Videos

A production company reached out to SHENNY as they needed help with producing creative assets for the ASDA launch of Skinny Bars.

SHENNY was required to create various animated videos that cut through the noise and grabbed attention, as well as give people a little taste of the sassy Skinny personality. The video above is the social media (IG/FB) version.

The animated videos needed to raise awareness of Skinny Bars and let people know the bars are available in ASDA.
As well as raise awareness, the animated videos needed to demonstrate that there are other products beyond what’s available in ASDA.

In addition to this, the animated videos had to encourage people to visit the Skinny website and try more of the products.

Sketches and ideas

To begin the animation process, SHENNY first developed three ideas based on some of the concepts provided. After an idea was selected the idea was developed and the animation process continued. Directly below are some quick and rough sketches to help crystalize the ideas.

After ideas for the animation were sketched out on paper, three concepts were designed in Adobe Illustrator to make the ideas more refined and presentable.

Animation and Motion Design

After a concept was selected, the full animation was started. Below are two of the animations created for the campaign.

The video on the left is the main video from which all the other animated videos were created. The video was used for the ASDA store entrances.

The video on the right was used at surrounding areas to the ASDA stores. Because of the location, the motion had to be more subtle, this was so the animated video didn’t distract any motor vehicle drivers.
